We are proud to share our latest redevelopment project situated in one of London's most exclusive and coveted locations, in close proximity to Royal Albert Hall, Kensington Gardens and Imperial College. This charming two-bedroom period property was dated and lacked in appeal and functionality. Our studio was tasked with project managing the renovation, to include a roof extension, and transforming it into a modern four-bedroom luxury maisonette.
The primary focus of the project was planning and executing the roof extension, as this was an opportunity to add two further bedrooms and bathrooms, thereby significantly increasing the property's size and value. An important feature at this stage of the project, was the addition of skylights, wherever possible, to increase the influx of daylight, creating a brighter and more inviting interior.
The second phase of the project involved reconfiguring and refurbishing the existing floor, to allow for more functional and practical modern spaces. We integrated a spacious open-plan living/dining area and a custom kitchen, fully fitted with top-of-the-line built-in appliances.
The project included interior design consultancy to a high-end specification, featuring bespoke joinery and FF&E styling. We aimed to retain the charm of the period features, whilst creating a light and airy feel throughout. We chose an elegant palette of heritage colours, fern greens, and champagne gold accents that elevated the scheme
The project encompassed a comprehensive interior design consultancy tailored to meet a high-end specification, which involved meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to quality craftsmanship. Central to our approach was the incorporation of bespoke joinery, which included bespoke joinery, designed to harmonise the overall aesthetic of the space. Additionally, our focus on FF&E styling allowed us to curate a selection of designer pieces that not only complemented the interiors but also enhanced the functionality of each room.
In our design strategy, we placed significant emphasis on preserving the inherent charm of the period features that characterised the property. This involved careful restoration and integration of original elements such as mouldings and architectural details, ensuring that they remained focal points within the contemporary design framework. Our goal was to create a seamless blend of classic heritage and modern sophistication, resulting in a home that feels both timeless and elegant.
To achieve a light and airy ambiance throughout the space, we utilised a thoughtful approach to layout and spatial planning. This included maximising natural light through the strategic placement of mirrors and the selection of light-filtering window treatments that would enhance the flow of sunlight while maintaining privacy. The overall design aimed to evoke a sense of openness and tranquillity, making each area feel expansive and welcoming.
The colour palette we selected played a crucial role in elevating the entire scheme. We opted for an elegant combination of heritage colours that reflect the historical context of the property. Rich fern greens were chosen to bring a touch of nature indoors, providing a calming influence. A layer of champagne gold accents, integrated into light fixtures, hardware, and decorative elements, added sophistication and warmth, creating a cohesive and luxurious atmosphere throughout the interiors.
This project was a harmonious fusion of bespoke design elements, historical preservation, and a refined colour palette, all of which contributed to a sophisticated yet inviting living environment that celebrates both the past and the present.
