In these unprecedented times, we have all been challenged in extraordinary ways and even though it has been difficult, our studio continues to work hard and deliver services and expertise. As we are currently progressing with the conversion of our South Kensington apartments, which will be placed on the rental market, we decided to share with you four top tips when it comes to styling a rental property.

Tip #1: The benefits of neutral colours

As neutral colours have very little saturation, they provide a flexible backdrop for calming spaces and are visually restful. In a neutral coloured space, one’s eyes flow from one point to the next without the distraction of a singular colour.

Tip #2: Get creative with soft furnishings

Inject colour with some of the accessories in order to achieve a visually engaging look. Cushions and throws are one of the easiest ways to add some bold colour to your living space. They can instantly add flashes of colour to a space and make it feel more homely.

Tip #3: Lighting is key

Lighting is a top priority, and is often neglected in rentals. Investing in small but spectacular signature wall or table lamps can really make all the difference. They are also an effective way to add instant ambience to a room.

Tip #4: Hard wearing materials with a luxurious feel

When preparing a property for the rental market, creating a contemporary and elegant design scheme is key, however, we should also focus on choosing materials which are durable and will last. For example velvet sofas can be very hard wearing but still have that luxurious look and feel.

And remember, keep your palettes to warm and natural colours with accents of gold or silver to add a note of glamour and sophistication!
