Winter is a particularly magical time of the year and it is where we decided to look for an inspiration for our latest project. We wanted to create a scheme of fabrics and colours in a range of neutral tones that work harmoniously together to create a real sense of warmth and comfort for our homes and remind us of the thick blankets of pure white snow.
Last year, we spent a substantial amount of our time indoors, which is plausibly predicted for 2021 too and that is why the main focus in interiors will be centred around the idea of bringing the outside into our living spaces. This is achievable by including warm paints encompassing off whites and ivories, creams and warm greys or through the use of light timber, teak, patina and matte tones to create more layers and a welcoming atmosphere.

The connectivity to the natural environment through the intentional use of natural materials has proven to significantly elevate moods, enhance overall well-being, and promote mindfulness among individuals. Numerous studies have demonstrated that exposure to natural elements, whether through the incorporation of greenery in urban spaces, the use of natural materials in design, or the creation of tranquil outdoor settings, can lead to a measurable improvement in mental health. This connection not only fosters a sense of peace and relaxation but also encourages individuals to engage more fully with their surroundings, heightening their awareness and appreciation for the world around them.
As we move through the year, it is our belief that sustainable and ethical design practices will evolve beyond being merely a passing trend. Instead, they will become fundamental principles guiding the creation of spaces and products that prioritize environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and the well-being of all living beings. This shift towards sustainability is not just a response to consumer demand but a necessary evolution in design philosophy that recognizes the intrinsic value of nature and the urgent need to protect our planet for future generations. By embedding these values into the very fabric of design, we can create spaces that not only uplift and inspire but also contribute to a healthier planet.
